Life Story Services
Our services facilitate reminiscence and storytelling to capture your loved one’s life story, which may include family origin and childhood, to adolescence through adulthood.
While each project is unique, the life story services generally include the following over the course of 10-12 weeks:
-
A discovery call to learn the scope of the potential project and if we are the right fit. We will subsequently share a project proposal.
-
Six one-on-one interviews with your loved one, up to 90 minutes per interview, to facilitate storytelling and capture the subject’s family origin, early life, adolescence and adulthood. Special attention will be given to drawing out life themes, reflections, joys and challenges that are important to the subject. Interviews may be conducted in person in the Denver Metro area or via Zoom.
-
A preliminary list of photos to gather prior to the interviews commencing. Through the interview process, additional photos to enhance the life story may be suggested. We will work with your loved one and you to receive the photos digitally while protecting the integrity of the originals.
-
Writing and formatting of your loved one’s life story. Drafts of the life story will be reviewed by your loved one and, if desired, their family. Ultimately, the life story will reflect what your loved one wants written about their life. Design layout of the book can be provided in a downloadable digital format. Printing of the book will be a separate costs from our fees.
-
The life story process can be many things - joyful, cathartic, a deepening experience. A debrief call with your family and your loved one will be offered as a chance to reflect and bring closure to the legacy project.
