With three decades of experience as a grant writer supporting human service non-profits, Isabel has spent innumerable hours with service providers, program practitioners and participants - listening to their stories, delving deep to understand community challenges, and crafting compelling grant narratives that have secured millions of dollars.

The most rewarding and humbling part of this work has been the relationships forged with individuals and organizations who have opened up, shared their honest experiences, joys and tribulations, and entrusted her to write about them.

Isabel has helped found innovative and responsive community initiatives supporting education, literacy and immigrant services, and has served on boards and committees in the humanities and libraries. She holds two Bachelor’s degrees from the University of California at Berkeley and a Master’s degree from Golden Gate University.
